Stitch Fix #7 Review and my NEW CANON camera!

I am so incredibly excited! I am just giving myself the ultimate Christmas over here!

FIRST...I received my Stitch Fix for December. This is Fix #7 for me and I had very specific requests for my stylist this time. She nailed it.

Plus, the day after my fix came, I received my new Canon camera! I am so excited to share this Stitch Fix review with you today using my new camera. The difference in the image quality is insane!  I can't believe that I waited so long to upgrade my camera!

(**Please excuse my iPhone quality image**)

In case you're wondering, I'm using a Canon EOS Rebel SL1. I am extremely happy with it so far!

I couldn't resist the opportunity to play with my new camera and I had to take a few naps of this gorgeous poinsettia that one of my students brought me as a Christmas gift on the last day of school. So pretty!!!

So, here's my new box....

I specifically asked my stylist for a 50's inspired box and I was very happy with the outcome. I've been really refining my style lately and I love the whole retro 50's vibe. I wanted more pieces to fit this type of wardrobe.

What is Stitch Fix?!

In case you're not familiar with what Stitch Fix is, it's a subscription personal styling service.  You can control how often you get shipments, what the price range of items in your shipment is, and what colors or types of items are sent to you!

The service costs $20 a month to be styled but the fee is deducted from any items that you decide to keep out of your box.  If you keep all 5 items in your box, you get a 25% discount.  My boxes usually run around $170-$200 to purchase the entire box. I usually just pick a few pieces for under $100.

When you get your box, it's wrapped so nicely!  It includes a gorgeous box with details about what to do next, a letter from your stylist, style cards to help you style your items, and a bag to return anything you're not keeping!

Let's get to it!

Anita Skinny Pant - $78

Alright, I don't have any pictures of these specifically. What I will say that is that I am wearing these pants in half of the photos. In the other half, I'm wearing a pair of black skinny pants that I already owned. I bought those particular pants at Maurices for HALF the price of these ones. Can anyone figure out which photos are the cheap {well...normally priced} pants and which are the expensive pants?

Overall, these are nice pants. I just won't spend $78 on something that I already own. However, props to my stylist. If she's sending me stuff that I already have, then she's on track!

VERDICT: RETURN

Aldana Scoop Neck Blouse - $48

The first thing that I tried on was this polk-a-dot top. It's amazing. It's flowy but in a good way. Not in the maternity style muumuu type of way.

VERDICT: KEEP!!

Alondra Ruched Pencil Skirt - $58

I am very happy with this skirt! It's so comfortable. Literally, it rivals the comfort of sweat pants. It's insane. Sooooo good. I love the sleek pencil skirt style. It's effortlessly classy while feeling like you're relaxed and dressed down. The ruching details on the side keep the skirt interesting and visually appealing.

VERDICT: KEEP

Coffman Button-Up Cardigan - $48

Alright, nothing screams retro 50's vibes like a good red cardigan. This really is the perfect cardigan. The details at the shoulder keep it elegant and interesting while the cut screams 50's fashion. The cropped sleeves and short length make this a definite wardrobe staple! I can imagine this now with a great head scarf!

VERDICT: KEEP

Shiloh Tonal Dot Print Sleeveless Blouse - $58

Alright, I really tried to love this blouse. The blue tonal dots and it's classic Americana style had be longing to love it. I took so many different pictures in this shirt in an effort to find a picture of me wearing it that screamed "don't let go of this!!" In the end, I just couldn't come up with a single shot and I didn't like it anymore in the end than I did when I put it on.

It's not that it's unflattering it's just that it....isn't flattering. I do love the scallop hem though. That's adorable. At the end of the day, I just can't justify a $58 shirt that I don't adore.

VERDICT: RETURN

Stitch Fix Review - November 2015

It has certainly been a while since I've posted a new Stitch Fix review. Let me be super honest with you. I've gained a few pounds and I'm just not loving how things are looking on me lately.

Enter my new Whole 30 that I've started with my friend.

So, even though I'm not into the pictures of myself right now, I can still share the photos of the clothes that I got, right?

Hopefully I'll be back to snapping pics of myself in the clothes when I get my next fix!

  A COOL BONUS GIFT

This month, they sent me a cool little bonus gift! They sent one of those silicone card holders that attaches to the back of your phone. I've been wanting one of these for ages and I couldn't wait to stick it onto the back of my phone!

  WHAT'S IN MY BOX?!

THE ITEMS

  MY REVIEW

I loved this top! This is actually the one thing that I kept from the box! It is so soft and snuggle. I love how it can be dressed down with jeans on a causal day or dressed up with a skirt and heals when needed.

These pants were amazing. However, they were too expensive for me. For $98, they need to be magical, not just amazing. I did love them though. The fit was great, the fabric was comfortable, the color was beautiful.

I am not a huge fan of tops like this one. The buttons tend to gape on me, requiring me to wear a cami underneath it. I am not a fan of layering because I am always hot! I did love the feel of the fabric, the color, cut and length!

Alright, I didn't love this top! The cut is weird. The band at the bottom is tight and fitted across the middle. YUCK! The sleeves had this weird extra fabric in the arm pit that made it hang in a weird way. It wasn't flattering, at all!

I really wanted this dress. I went back and forth on keeping it. I might ask for it again in a future fix. Unfortunately, my budget only allowed for one item this time and the sweater at the top was the one that won over everything else. This dress was a dream though. I hope to see it in a fix again!!

My FULL Review of Stitch Fix #4!

This is a very special review for another reason...I AM KEEPING EVERYTHING!!! Yes, I love the entire box. Everything is unique, gorgeous and perfect!!

Of course, I've loved all of my fixes for one reason or another. However, I was getting tired of getting so many darn sweaters and cardigans. It's 80 degrees out, people!! BUT...ask and you shall receive, right?! Yep...I asked and I didn't get one single sweater. I got quite the opposite, loads of tanks! I love tanks and I am excited to start showing you what I got!!

Cloey Keyhole Top - $48

Let me start by saying that there was a time in my life where I HATED the color blue. I refused to wear anything blue. These days, I am ALL about the blue!! This top fits so wonderfully! I love the laid back, casual style of the top and the way that it can be really dressed up with a simple cardigan or jacket for work. It's like the perfect mix of summer-time casual meets work casual. The keyhole detail at the top keeps it fun, the fabric is ultra lightweight and comfortable and the print is gorgeous!!!

Stacia Cuffed Ombre Short - $48

I've had mixed reviews from people about these shorts BUT, if you could feel the way they feel when they're on, you would change your mind! They are the most comfortable jean shorts that I have EVER put on!! They have the slightest bit of stretch to them! I also like that they are longer so it doesn't feel like I'm dressed inappropriately for a teacher when I go out and run into a kid or family that I know! They have a really cute ombre design on them that mixes it up and sets them apart from most jean shorts! Plus, jean shorts are super versatile and like the ultimate summer staple! I am loving these!!

Cheli Striped Maxi Dress - $68

I am a sucker for a maxi dress that fits nicely! The trouble is...I'm 5'2". Those things are HARD to come by! When I pulled this out of the box, I thought "oh great...I'll have to add a $20 hemming fee to this if I like it!" Well, let me show you something...this dress does NOT need hemmed. I repeat, this dress does not need hemmed!!

Definitely, my favorite part about this dress is the loose fit of the bottom and the way that it has a slight twirl to it. There's just the right amount of movement to the dress. The cut of the dress makes it super figure flattering! The neck isn't too low either!

I love every single thing about this dress!!

Gemini Racerback Blouse - $38

This was the most questionable piece out of the bunch for me! In fact, my boyfriend does not like this shirt. However, there are quite a few subtle details that made this a keeper for me. The sides have a slight slit and it laters across itself in the back. The top has a nice open flow to it but not at the expense of coverage!

I liked the colors in this top. They were neutral enough for me to be able to build it into my wardrobe yet bright enough that it would differentiate itself from what I typically wear! It does lack the flexibility that the other tops have with the vacation to work transition but I figure that it'll be ok to have a couple seasonal items in my wardrobe! I have to keep it fresh somehow.

Elyse Striped Sheer Sleeveless Top - $48

Last up is this gorgeous sheer striped top! I love that Stitch Fix sent me a white camisole to go underneath the top since it's sheer! It's good to know that I have a white camisole to make this wearable! I love, again, the cut of the neck here! The stripes break it up and keep it from looking to "old" with its high neck! The break up of the side panels with a solid strip makes the shirt more figure flattering. I enjoy that this is also a very versatile top. It can be worn in the summer as is or it can be dressed with slacks and a nice cardigan or jacket to make it suitable for work wear during the school year! The navy striping helps this top transition seamlessly into my wardrobe!
